Last Mountain Fall Walleye Classic updates |

I have confirmed that there will be no gas available at the marina and the nearest gas stations will be the Bulyea Co-op and Diger's in Strasbourg. The Bulyea Co-op closes at 5:30 PM daily but Diger's is open 7am to 10pm daily and will have both premium and regular gasoline. I also spoke with someone that recently visited the park and said that from Nokomis to the park there are rough areas and sections of gravel but some patching is being done. He suggests giving yourself some extra time and slow down through the rough sections. There has also been a post in the forums regarding the road situation. D Deutscher |

Paul Legrand has confirmed that the Last Mountain Fall Classic will proceed but with some changes for this year and contingent on good weather and no major rainfall between now and the tournament. The conditions in the marina are still not good and will impact the operations of the tournament. Except for access to one launch dock the marina will be closed and that means there will be no slips available, no gas being sold and alternate arrangements will be made for the weigh in. There will also be no boat inspections available on the water therefore all boats must be trailered to the marina each morning and inspected before they are launched. The marina store will be open. The tournament committee has worked hard to ensure this event will run but due to the unusual circumstances they will need our full understanding, cooperation and patience as there will undoubtedly be some delays and unforeseen glitches. The tournament is now full and there is a waiting list. If you have had your cheque cashed, you are in, confirmation letters will be mailed next week. Saskatchewan Environment still has some concerns that need to be addressed and the tournament committee is working with them to work these out. Paul reports that there is still a small chance the event could be cancelled but hopefully this will not be required. Updates will be posted here as they are available. D Deutscher |

The Fall Walleye Classic is 30% full! June 15th is
approaching fast! We are still organizing the Fall Walleye Classic! There
is some concerns about the marina at Rowan's Ravine right now! The marina is
closed right now! Sask. Environment will be making a decision about the
marina around July 1st to July 15th because of the high water in Long Lake!
If the tournament has to be cancelled, we will refund everyone's entry fee. |
